Fabricating a twisted pendant using sinusoidal stakes employing anticlastic forming technique


I cut out the pattern out of 14k yellow gold and filed its edges.


   I bent the metal strip into a circle over a round mandrel.


Using sinusoidal metal stakes and plastic hammers I hammered the metal adding curvature to the shape. In the last photo you can see a sinusoidal metal stake (source: www.riogrande.com).


Using my hands I twisted the ends of the circle into opposing directions, as a result it opened into the shape seen in the photo.
