My visit to the Archaeology Wing of the
Israel Museum in Jerusalem resulted in countless photographs of antique jewelry
and quite a few insights into human behavior.
Necklace and beads from Fazael, Hayonim cave and
Nahal Ruth, Israel. The stone age and Paleolithic cultures, ca.
30,000-14,500 years ago. Made of teeth and seashells.
The Israel museum, Jerusalem.
Just think about it: these jewelry items
were worn by early humans that were hunters & gatherers. Even at that time
people wanted to adorn themselves with beautiful items.
