Ancient synclastic gold earrings

These earrings were among the artifacts found in Ur, Iraq dating from 2550-2450 BCE. As I explained in my previous post I saw them at the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology, Philadelphia, PA. 

Their fabricating process gives the impression to involve what we call today synclastic forming. It seems reasonable as the basic tools needed are only hammers and a wooden block.
