Pattern development for jewelry

I wrote about the methods that I use for developing patterns in previous posts (February 7, 2015 & August11, 2011). Here is one more example of the process.

Tree with open seed pods that look like dried flowers. It grows in my neighborhood

A twig with seed pods that I took to the studio

I made a copper flower that resembles the dried seed pods and placed it on the twig

To get the feeling how this flower blends into my jewelry I have fabricated a pair of flowers from sterling silver and used them with citrine beads to create a simple pair of earrings

I like it but it is quite similar to other patterns I have used before so I am not sure if I will use it in the future
