My first day in the busy city of Taipei
was overwhelming. Shortly before dark we decided to go into the botanical
gardens to relax from the bustle of the city. Just outside the gardens, near
the National Taiwan Craft Research and Development Institute, I noticed an
abstract metal sculpture which obviously represented a man and a woman, or in
general male and female. I loved the fluidity of the two forms, and their
unique textures. It was by artist Arthur Yang. I found more works and
